Our research Group

Manabu Fujii research group is engaged in research on the environmental engineering fields such as water and wastewater treatment and environmental conservation (e.g., characterization of affected environments) in addition to the interdisciplinary research that encompasses various social and environmental components such as climate change, degradation of biodiversity, social globalization and sustainable development.

Many discoveries, such as technological innovations and the understanding of new phenomena, have been achieved through the integration and fusion of different fields. Our challenges are therefore to realize technical and sustainable innovations in water treatment and environmental assessment by integrating the cutting-edge knowledge not only in the field of civil and environmental engineering, but also from the other fields such as environmental science, materials science, data science, microbiology, analytical chemistry, and quantum chemistry.

We welcome the students and young researchers with different backgrounds from all over the world to gather the latest information and people. We also believe it is important to foster a research environment where young students and researchers can think independently and exchange their ideas freely. In that sense, we respect the intellectual curiosity of each researcher and welcome unconventional and creative research as well as research of academic and social importance.
