研究室の国際交流 / International collaboration

We welcome international graduate students and young researchers (postdoctoral fellows) from different countries (e.g., Indonesia, China, Sri Lanka, Thai, Egypt, India) to promote internationalization of our group. We believe that the diversity of values, cultures, and ways of thinking is important in creation of novel research ideas, and therefore we are striving to develop a diverse education and research environment.

Outside the laboratory, we have been conducting a range of joint research collaboration programs with more than 10 overseas researchers from 8 countries. We believe that students and young researchers with a global perspective are indispensable for the future society. Also, international perspective of students will be trained through not only joint collaborative research but also education and research on various water environment issues, especially, in developing countries.

エジプト・日本科学技術大学(E-JUST)の概要 / Outline of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST)

E-JUST was established as a part of ODA (JICA technical cooperation, 2008-) with the aim of fostering excellent science and engineering as well as human resources development in Africa and the Middle East. The project has the characteristics of Japanese-style engineering education, such as small classes and a focus on research. Since 2015, I have been involved in the project to support the education, research and administration in Environmental Engineering Department, E-JUST. The campus is located in the suburbs of Alexandria.
